Cláudia Picado is a renowned Portuguese Fado singer known for her powerful and distinctive voice, captivating audiences from an early age. After winning two prestigious “Grande Noite do Fado” competitions in Lisbon and Porto, she launched a successful national and international career, bringing traditional Portuguese Fado to audiences around the world.
In 2004, she released her debut album, Ausência, beginning a journey that led her to perform in casinos, festivals, theaters, and iconic Fado houses in Lisbon, including O Faia and Adega Machado. Throughout her career, she has represented Portugal at major cultural events and international music festivals in countries such as Japan, Israel, China, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, the Philippines, and the United States.
Cláudia Picado has participated in important World Music festivals and performed at renowned events such as Caixa Alfama, appearing both at the Fado Museum and the historic Santo Estêvão Church in Lisbon. In 2017, she was awarded the Duquesa do Cadaval Cultural Merit Medal in recognition of her contribution to promoting Portuguese culture and Fado music internationally.
In 2019, she released the album Reflexo through Sony Music, produced by Guilherme Banza with executive production by Tozé Brito. The album combines traditional Fado with original compositions by some of Portugal’s most respected songwriters, reflecting Cláudia Picado’s artistic identity and deep connection to Lisbon Fado.
